Best Friends Share Everything

The holidays are always such a busy time. I hate when there is so much to do that I can't seem to find time to sit down and create even a card. My weekend was so busy(lots of fun though) that I made some time to do this card just to put some calm and quiet back into my life.
This digi is a freebie that I got from Mo's Digital Pencil. I love all her images and when I saw the MDP challenge this week, #10, was a non-holiday thank you card I knew this would be perfect!

I also made this card to fit for these challenges
Daring Cardmakers- Going Dotty, polka dots on the card and nothing wintery!
Truly Scrumptious Challenge 22- This week it is a wonderful sketch that worked perfectly with this image.
It was nice to make a card that didn't have to do with snow or the holidays right now. I do have a few more cards that I need to post before the holidays are here but I hope you enjoyed seeing one that was made just because it was fun card!

Supplies
Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Wordsworth Stamps
Paper: SU Night of Navy and Old Olive CS, Papertrey White, DP Bo Bunny and CTMH
Inks: Copics, SU Night of Navy, Old Olive
Accessories: Nesties, MS Leaf Punch, Misc. brads and Craft Button, and Michaels Ribbon

Thanks for taking the time to stop by to see my creation during these busy times. I really do appreciate all the wonderful comments that you leave for me.

Have a wonderful day,
Mary

Ready For Snow!

It is just starting to snow lightly here. They are saying this area of Massachusetts is going to get 5-6" overnight. We always seem to get the most out of the whole state I guess because we are in the northern part of the state about 10 minutes from the NH border. I hate the stuff unless it is on a card!

I did this card for the Sugar Bowl challenge, challenge 25, Lilian's sketch. You were to use the sketch and also your favorite color. My favorite color is blue and it goes perfectly with these shades of pink and cranberry so this card was a lot of fun to do. I also love this Sugar Nellie winter stamp because she is so fun to color! I put lots of sparkle on it but of course it didn't show up well in the picture. There is no sentiment yet because I'm not sure if it will be a Christmas card yet.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie
Paper: SU Bravo Burgundy CS, Old Olive CS, Bashful Blue CS Papertrey White CS, and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Coluzzle Cutter, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, SU Glitter, Recollections Sticker Pearls, Joanns Ribbon and Pearl String Beads, SU Slot Punch, and Bow Easy

Thanks for stopping by to see what I created for the Sugar Bowl challenge. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments that you leave for me.

Enjoy the weekend,

An Old Fashioned Christmas

The weather today in Northern Massachusetts was fantastic! The temp outside at school registered at 72 degrees at lunchtime. It is usually around the 30's about this time of year. They are saying snow for Saturday, crazy weather for sure!
I bought this Just Rite Christmas set in the early Fall and stuck it away for use later on. I almost forgot about it until I was digging in my Just Rite storage boxes and found it! I loved the snowmen in this set, but after playing with this sleigh I am really loving it too for a Christmas card. I have a quite a few of these stamps and find them fun to interchange. I colored most of the trim on the sleigh and the holly with my Spica Glitter pens, boy do they sparkle and work were regular glitter would be too much. I tried to capture it in the second picture.

A lot of the challenges this week fit my card so here are the ones I participated in

Pile It On Challenge #26- To use flowers and flourishes, two things I love to use on cards and of course one other current challenge.
Papertake Weekly Challenge Sketch #29- I love this sketch because it lets you do so much with it.
Stamp with Fun Challenge 35- Christmas, this is a new challenge that I found that looks like lots of fun!
Crazy For Challenges week 13-Punch Happy, I used a branch and flourish punch on my card.
Cupcake Craft Challenge 68-Red and green, perfect Christmas card colors.
Cuttlebug Challenge #59&#60-Add glitter and bling, that's lots of fun along with some cuttlebug
on the card.
I hope you check out all these great challenges. I am finding them a lot of fun to do.

Snowman Holiday

I know I should be out shopping all weekend trying to brave the crowds and finish up my Christmas present list. But I am past the crowds unless it is a holiday craft fair (which I got up early for yesterday) and it is really cold and windy outside. I am home alone so I decided it was a perfect time to make a card instead. This card will end up being some one's Christmas card because I really love the colors of it. I finally ordered some of Moe's Digital Stamps last night. I told myself that I wasn't spending any more money on myself until after the holidays but I really wanted to color something new and my order from Kraftin' Kimmie hasn't come yet so with a couple clicks of the mouse I had new images to play with, don't you just love digis! I made this card with a couple of challenges in mind and here they are
Paperplay Challenge Week 43 -This Wonderful Sketch this week from Sandi, so easy to work with!
A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 79- A Colour Combo, Brown with blue or pink, some of my most favorite colors
Quixotic Challenge #4-Tearing, something fun that I forget do use on my cards that gives a nice distressed look
Allsorts Challenge Week 29- Use buttons on your card. I couldn't wait to use these new icy buttons that I got at my LSS
Crazy For Challenges Week 13-Crazy for punches, I used three different snowflake punches altogether to make the snowflake embellishment
Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 8-This week the challenge is to add texture, I ran one of the panels through my snowflake Cuttlebug folder and then sanded it.
Dare U 2 Digi Challenge 26-Use glitter, I used Twinklets on the snowflake(I love this stuff) and I glittered the Flower Soft for sparkling snow

These are all fantastic challenges and I am finding it fun to see how many challenges my card can
work for. If you have a few minutes check out a few of them on my list.

A Special Thank You

I was asked to make a special you are much appreciated thank you card for our PTO at school from the staff. I wanted to do something different from what everyone usually sees me make. I decided to use some of my most favorite stamps, my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps. This picture doesn't show the brightness of the fall colors or all the sparkle on the wreath. After I stamped the wreath I dotted all around it with Platinum Stickles. Platinum is perfect for Fall because it doesn't give that yellowish sparkle like gold so it doesn't over power the colors on the image. I didn't have a ribbon that matched so I ran white ribbon over my Old Olive ink pad to dye it to match the Old Olive CS and ink. I decided to add the leaf pins for just that little extra embellishment. I am hoping it meets with every one's approval at school.

Luckily this card also meets some of the requirements for some challenges, so here they are
Creative inspirations Challenge 36- Sparkle on your card
Stamp Something Challenge- A Thank You Card
Your Next Stamp Challenge #4-Be thankful
These are all wonderful challenges and I am so glad they let everyone play along with them. Please take a minute to check them out and maybe play along too.

Supplies
Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Old Olive, CTMH Textured Rust, Papertrey White, and DP Unknown
Inks: Asst. SU Colors
Accessories: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Stickles, Su Corner Punch, Recollections Fall Pearls, Michaels Ribbon, JoAnns Leaf Pins

Thanks for stopping by today today to see what I have created. I would like everyone to know how much I appreciate all the wonderful comments you leave for me to read.

Writing to Santa, Sugar Bowl Challenge 24

I am so glad that today was Friday. I went back to school yesterday and I have been really tired trying to get back in the swing of things. The one good thing was that I got some time during lunch to finish up my Sugar Bowl Challenge card. I started it yesterday but didn't think I would get to finish it until tomorrow. This is one of the new Christmas stamps that I just adore. I don't tend to buy the boy images as much as the girls but I loved this image and had to have it.

This week the Sugar Bowl Challenge is sketch 24 by Marlene. You also have to have some sort of zigzag on the card. I thought that would be a problem but it turns out that I had some SU rick rack ribbon. It was light green so I pulled out my Copics and colored it red and to brighten it up put red Stickles on it. I made something that reminded me of the corsages you see around the holidays in mini form. I tried to color the hat and scarf to match the plaid paper back round. Just a little glitter to add a little sparkle without him having bling.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie
Paper: SU Real Red. Night of Navy, Papertrey White, CTMH Textured White, and DP Bo Bunny and Basic Grey
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Paper Shaper Swirl Punch, MS Branch Punch, SU Glitter, Stickles, SU Rick Rack Ribbon, CTMH Ribbon, Kaiser Pearls, Queen & Co Pearls, Pearl Pins Unknown

I hope you liked my interpretation of the Sugar Bowl Sketch this week. Thank you stopping by. I would love to know what you think of my card.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Mary

Just Chillin' Out

This card was made with a lot of my favorite things. All these colors purple, white and silver are some of my favorite colors to use right after BLUE. Snowmen and snowflakes that are something that I can never have enough of except for the real stuff! This Dustin Pike snowman is definitely one of the cutest I have. I popped up a few of the marshmallows and colored the edges to give the impression that they fell out of the mug when the snowman climbed in. I also put Crystal Effects on the cocoa to make it look like liquid. I also attempted to paint snowflakes on the scarf so it wouldn't be so plain looking. Rubber Stamp Tapestry is a stamp company that I love especially this snowflake set, I use it a lot! This card has a lot of sparkle that doesn't show up so I took a second pic to try to show all the sparkle it has IRL. Because of all these things this card met the criteria for a lot of challenges, so here is the list of them.

Digital Tuesday Challenge #33- A colour challenge to use white, purple and gold or silver
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 86- Glitter Me Silly! Make the card sparkle
Frosted Designs Bling It On Challenge- Rhinestones, Glitter, Shimmer, Sparkles
Crafty Calendar Challenge #2 Weather-Any weather shown however you like to express it.
Cupcake Craft Challenges #66-Use A digital Image
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #58- Four Seasons, pick one or do all four

I have never done this many challenges at one time. Being home sick and having a computer close by makes wandering something to do between naps and meds.

Supplies
Stamps: Dustin Pike Digi Stamps, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, and CTMH(saying)
Papers: CTMH Textured White, SU Lovely Lilac, Papertrey White, and Glittered Silver (unknown)
Inks: Copics, Ass't SU colors (snowflakes)
Accessories: Nesties, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Paper Shaper Punch, EK Success Mini Snowflake Punch, SU Glitter, Rhinestones, Flower Soft, Michaels Ribbon, Bow Easy, SU Crystal Effects, and Stickles

I hope you liked my card I created. I would love to know what you think of it. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments that you leave for me.

Have a wonderful Day,
Mary
