A Special Birthday

Hello Happy Wednesday! I hope you all are having a fantastic week. I was lucky enough to get together on Saturday with my wonderful stamping friends. We always have so much fun when we have a day together. We laugh, create, eat, just a fantastic time all day. We all do a little bit of everything, journaling, cardmaking, scrapping it is so much fun to see what everyone is working on in person.

This is the card that I created for my daughter's birthday about 3 weeks ago. She loves things that are lacey, has sparkle and lots of pearls. She puts roses on everything she creates so I thought this rose image from Just Inklined would be perfect for her card. I am so glad she really liked it.

Rockin' It!!!!

Hello, Happy Tuesday!!! It is pouring here today and I can't complain because it is so dry from having no rain. I guess it will give me time indoors to finish up all the things I never seem to get around to especially because I head back to work next Tuesday.

This week over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations we have a really fun challenge, "Off The Edge".
We would like to see you create something that has something hang off you creation. Mine is my saying. I can never seem to find that little extra bit of room at the end when it is time to put on a sentiment or a embellishment. That is what this challenge is all about this week. Come play with us and show us how you "hang off the edge".

My son's birthday was a week ago and this is the card I created for him. When he was really little he loved any kind of equipment. My husband's family owned a construction company and my son could sit for hours (days if we would let him) in the equipment especially the front end loaders just imagining that he was running them. That is why this Kenny K image was perfect for his card this year. When he opened it everyone laughed saying it was like talking a picture of him and putting it on the card!

Meeting My Teacher

Hello and Happy Friday!!! I can not believe that it is almost September. The weather this week has been beautiful. I have been walking for miles everyday and enjoyed every step. I would much rather be outside walking than on a tredmill and this wonderful weather has been an added bonus.

This week the challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations is "Back To School". I am late posting this card I created. There is  still plenty of time for you to come play with us. I am sure back to school is on a lot of minds these days. For me it means back to work for me. My family looks at it differently. They aren't looking forward to having the buses on the roads again stopping at almost every other house. They walked to the end of the street to get the bus when they were young, to hear them talk they walked a mile unlike the kids now, hehe.

I decided that this digi from MayzyArt would be the perfect with this great school 8x8 paper pack for $5.00 that I found at Michaels. It was a great deal on clearance and the pack was loaded with lots of sheets. It afforded me the luxury of cutting up some of the sheets for the apple, busses, pencils, the popped up parts of 2nd grade and the letter strip at the top. I can't remember the last time I cut so much out!

A Perfect Day

Hello!!! Happy Wednesday! The weather is still beautiful here in New England though the stickies are coming back and bringing thunder showers for the next few days and the weekend. I guess we can't have it all as far as the weather goes. I hope you are enjoying beautiful summer days before they are gone.

This week at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations we have a different kind of challenge,

Underwater Beauty

Hello and Happy Tuesday!!! It is very early morning (just after midnight) and I just finished this card. I have been working on this card for days and I knew how I wanted to come out but it just never looked good enough, how I envisioned it. Needless to say this is nothing what it started out as. I had a creative jolt after a long afternoon lunch with some school friends. I came home and took most the card apart and I decided to have fun with it. This was the end result!

The only 2 things I kept was the image and the 1st DP (the blue blue glittered DP that is now behind the underwater scene DP. I went crazy with the diecuts (7 different ones) to make the underwater plant life. Don't you just love this meshy ribbon that I found at a LSS. I just added the strings and the sea embellishments so it would look like an old fishing net. I tore the cellar apart looking for my son's old tackle box so I could use a real fish hook but no luck so I tried my hand at making one to hold the tag. I finished it off with lots of glitter and Dew Drops.

Okay enough babbling from me. Being Tuesday it is time for another fantastic challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations.  The theme this week is WATER!

Just Chillin'

Hello and Happy Saturday!!! I hope you all had a great start to your weekend. I just finished working my first week of summer school. I am with a preschool/kindergarten class this summer and you forget how cute (but tiring) they are after working with the older kids all year. I am glad to have 2 days to sleep in a bit later.

I am posting this card today as a guest DT for My Sheri Crafts. They have a fantastic challenge starting today and as you can see it is all about ice cream in a cone or dish!  I colored a few images and really liked these cute Meljens Design images. I love ice cream in the summer and always feel like it is calling out to me to have some so the faces on both these seemed fitting. I wanted some of the image to look realistic so I put Crystal Effects on the 3 toppings and the cherry on top. I didn't like the spoon flat and it didn't look right popped-up so I took a tool I have with a good size ball on the end and "rolled" the center of the spoon so the edges would pop up and give a curve to the spoon head. I also did the back of the handle to have the center of the handle pop-out. I also used a real doily because the ice cream shop usually serves their ice cream on them. I just dressed it up a bit with jewel mini hearts and mini pearls. All the ladies did such a fabulous job so be sure to stop by and be inspired to play along!

Blue Christmas

Hello, Happy Friday!!! I hope your start to the weekend is great. This card was suppose to be posted on Tuesday but Blogger is giving me so much trouble and when I started poking around trying to get it to work right I really messed it up. I still can't get it back to where it was but it is working enough to be able to post. I am not very good with computers so I should know better than to start clicking and deleting things that I don't know how to fix if it effects something else.

This is my card for Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge this week. The theme for the week is Christmas in July. I just got this Nellie Snellen (I just love all their stamps) Christmas stamp in June at a Stamping Convention and couldn't wait to color it. I love making my Christmas/Winter cards in the color blue so I couldn't resist doing this one in blue too! I also glittered almost everything on the card, the second pic I hope shows all the sparkle better than the first picture. It is not too late to come play along with us so we hope you hop over and play. I can't wait to see what you created.
