I'm waiting for you! Copic Creations Challenge #14, Basic Grey Challenge Week 6

Today is beautiful here in New England! I was afraid that Fall was just going to skip us this year! It snowed yesterday, a lot. I always like the first snow fall but not until Fall has passed. This whole week is suppose to be gorgeous and I have Friday off. Friday night I get to go to our LSS customer appreciation party with my sister Peggy. This is going to be a great week I think.

This card was made for two challenges, the first one being Copic Creations Challenge #14, Black.
I am not much of one to practice using certain colors like black and greys. I only pull them out when I have to color something those colors. I love Tink from High Hopes but I done use the stamps I have of him often. I just got this Tink in late Dec. last year after the holidays. I figured he would be perfect for this challenge because he looks so sweet.

The second challenge is the Basic Grey Challenge week 6, a color challenge, red, green and blue.

I love the Basic Grey Holiday paper pak. They are not your traditional Holiday colors so it is really fun to use them. I really tried to match my blue back round with the blue holly in the DP so it would "pop" a bit more. Do you think it does? I had to create my saying on the computer because I couldn't find anything good to use in my stamp stash. I dressed it up with Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.

Treasure The Moment, Copic Creations Challenge #11

I am officially back to school and the kids are wonderful this year just like many other years. I guess because it is just about Labor Day I decided this would be my last "summer" card. I am so ready to move onto Fall. I didn't want to save this cute High Hopes stamp though till next year.

I made this card for the Copic Creations #11 challenge, use your favorite color combos. Mine happen to be Earthy browns, pinks, purples and shades of green when it comes to Copics. I love all the Copic colors but don't always have combos that I like together. The DT cards are gorgeous like always and the Sponsor is Mo's Digital Pencil Too. The images are so cute with lots of beautiful details.

I didn't do a lot of extras on this card, I thought the image was detailed enough. I did pop up the flower to give the impression of an umbrella and added the floating leaves after to balance the card out. The saying seemed fitting because we'll be knee deep in snow before we know it longing for a summer day again!

You're Invited, 3CTC21

We finally have the sun out here in New England, I thought we were not going to see it all summer. As soon as it came out I felt like making something sunny, what better than a BBQ, right? This stamp is from High Hopes, the last time Peggy and I ordered from them this was one of the "extra" stamps they sent. I was thrilled because I love their ants and this reminded me of our cookouts and all the ants we have because of food being dropped on the ground! This is how they must feel when it is warm and sunny outside.

I used Kerry's Thursday challenge, 3CTC21, for the layout on the card. It was a sketch this week. The only thing that I changed was I turned the sketch on it's side so the image would fit better.

I got to use some new toys on this card also. I used my Just Rite vertical stamper and boy do I love it. I lines the letters up sooo easy! Second, I couldn't resist the unbelievable sale that Dustin Pike was having this weekend. He sold all 118 of his digital images for 25 dollars. So when I needed a little extra on the card I printed out the BBQ supplies and was set to go. I am really falling in love with digi stamps.

A High Hopes garden

It feels like it has been forever since I last posted to here. School was crazy for the last month of the year and we had so much going on at home that we kept packing and unpacking different rooms while workers were here doing what had to be done. My stamping things were packed up so they didn't get lost in the shuffle. I am so happy that school just got out a couple of days ago and I finally got to stamp these past couple of days.

This is one of the cards that I did. The stamp is from High Hopes and it was really fun to color with Copics. The vine has Stickles on the flowers and the tipped pot has Flower Soft on the center of the flowers. The image is a bit on the big side so I didn't have much room for much else on the card. You should have seen me digging through older DP to find my stash of gigham, I haven't had much use for it until this stamp. I wanted the card to have a country feel to it.

Crazy For Ants!!!!! 3CTC13

This is a High Hopes stamp that I fell in love with because it makes me think of my son, Bryan. He is a landscaper that has his own business and is always working around our house trying to fit our yard into his busy days. He lives in his workboots and they are never tied all the way so they look just like the ones on this cute ant. Bryan, like this ant, loves to be outside and so he always has a smile on his face while he's working. I couldn't resist making the ant blue, my favorite color to use!

I am using this card for Kerry's challenge this week, 3CTC13, make a card that has flowers on it. I made this card when we were up in Vermont and just never got around to posting it. Since it is going to be a busy week at school I decided this card would work since it has a flower as an embellishment.

Peggy and I went to the CK convention in NH Sat. and I bought LOTS of stuff. It was a good convention this year. Basic Grey has a lot of really pretty 6x6 packs. I bought 6 of them there along with 16 more Copics because they were a great price, too good to pass up. I use so much of the BG paper, like on this card. I love that the designs are sized small for cards. If you ever get the chance to go to a convention you really should go, they can be very inspiring, lots of make and takes and you meet some really nice people. Beware though they also take all your money like it did for Peggy and I yesterday. We are going to Springfield, MA to a stamping convention in the beginning of June, guess I should save some money quick!

High Hopes Bubbles

I really like High Hope stamps but when we were putting in our latest HH order I fell in love with this little girl blowing bubbles!!!! She was the first stamp on my list. Luckily our order came right before we left for Vermont so I was thrilled that I would be making a card with her while I was up there.

I have come to realize that I am buying more and more cute stamps. Before I don't think I leaned toward these types of stamps but since I have started coloring almost everything with Copics they just seem like perfect match that I really like. I also used my cloud maker for the back round so that when I colored and Stickled the bubbles it would really show up. I painted the Stickles on with a paint brush so they would only be a thin coat and sparkle a little like the sun hitting them. I can see me using this stamp a lot, she was so much fun to color. I may even put some Flower Soft on the grass so that she looks like she is sitting in a field of wild flowers. I heated the ribbon so that it would curl up and give it a rippled look. I am always trying not to get in a rut by doing every card the same.

I'm Not Lion!

I got this cute High Hopes lion a while ago because I thought he was just too cute. I kind of forgot about him until I was looking for an image to use for Mary Jo's Monday lunchtime sketch challenge and decided he would make a great valentine card. TSSC 56 is really cute and was fun to work with, you should check it out and play along.

It took me a couple of tries before I got the lion to look the way I wanted using my Copics. I love the heart DP CS and so that is what led me to use the colors that I did on the card. I used my Just Rite stamps to spell out the hearts and the bottom one was going to say Be Mine but I was working on it at school to try and finish it up and one of the little boys in the class that I work in came up and said "it's a valentine, it should say I'm not lion, I love you". So now it does. The funny part is that this little boy isn't crazy about doing crafts and usually never comes over like the other kids to see what I am working on. When I told him that I was going to give him credit for helping me finish the card he just smiled and walked away. This is why I love working in an elementary school.

Snow Much Fun

I didn't expect it to take me so long to post again but I spent Sunday Morning making the blog more user friendly, then for some reason we lost our internet most of the afternoon and all that night. I was back to school on Monday after 12 days off and boy was it a long day! I was out for the night by 7:30.

This card was so fun to make because I love this High Hopes image and it was perfect for using my Rubber Stamp Tapestry snowflakes for the backround. It is hard to tell but there is glitter all over the card. Also I cut out the beaver and the moose's head down to the front of the sled and popped both up. The image and the sky were colored with copics.
