Just Chillin' Out

This card was made with a lot of my favorite things. All these colors purple, white and silver are some of my favorite colors to use right after BLUE. Snowmen and snowflakes that are something that I can never have enough of except for the real stuff! This Dustin Pike snowman is definitely one of the cutest I have. I popped up a few of the marshmallows and colored the edges to give the impression that they fell out of the mug when the snowman climbed in. I also put Crystal Effects on the cocoa to make it look like liquid. I also attempted to paint snowflakes on the scarf so it wouldn't be so plain looking. Rubber Stamp Tapestry is a stamp company that I love especially this snowflake set, I use it a lot! This card has a lot of sparkle that doesn't show up so I took a second pic to try to show all the sparkle it has IRL. Because of all these things this card met the criteria for a lot of challenges, so here is the list of them.

Digital Tuesday Challenge #33- A colour challenge to use white, purple and gold or silver
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 86- Glitter Me Silly! Make the card sparkle
Frosted Designs Bling It On Challenge- Rhinestones, Glitter, Shimmer, Sparkles
Crafty Calendar Challenge #2 Weather-Any weather shown however you like to express it.
Cupcake Craft Challenges #66-Use A digital Image
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #58- Four Seasons, pick one or do all four

I have never done this many challenges at one time. Being home sick and having a computer close by makes wandering something to do between naps and meds.

Lotsa Love

I made this card for four challenges that I thought would be perfect for this cute image. I love these Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps girls. So I have been trying to do Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenges each week to see what everyone else is doing with them also. The Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp Challenge this week is Challenge #6, Lotsa Circles. I thought with all the circles on the bottom of her dress and the round button eyes on her dolls that it would be my inspiration for the challenge.

The second challenge that I decided to use this card for was the Copic Colour Challenge #39 to use the colors G05 emerald Green, R29 Lipstick Red, and Y08 Acid Yellow. Luckily I had all 3 of these colors and decided to go playful with them. This is definitely not my typical type of card though I do like the way it came out. I didn't put a saying to it yet though because I am not sure what it will used for maybe a birthday card.

The third challenge that this card was made for was Allsorts Challenge Week 27, a card or something for a child. I think this image is perfect for any little girl who has a favorite doll that goes everywhere. My own daughter when she was young had one just like these and loved it to the point of ruin.

The fourth challenge is for Paperplay Challenges 09 Week 41 a recipe. The recipe is to use 2 designer papers, 3 buttons and 1 ribbon. I love all three items in the recipe so it was a great challenge for me. This is the first time I have tried one of their challenges.

Supplies
Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps
Paper: SU YoYo Yellow, Garden Green, Papertrey White, and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Nesties, MS Punch, SU Photo Corner Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, CTMH Spiral Clip, Michaels Ribbon, and Walmart Craft Buttons

I hope you have liked this card I created. It was lots of fun to try something totally different than what I normally do. I would really appreciate knowing what you think.

Happy Creating,
Mary

Picking Time! 3CTC39, Stamp Something Sketch Challenge

It finally stopped raining here in New England. I don't normally mind a rainy day but I have been home sick with something that knocked me right off my feet, yesterday was the first day I got up and got dressed and tried to face the world still not feeling 100% but wanting some fresh air without the downpours.

This stamp is one of Crissy Armstrong's on Squigglefly. Isn't this one of the cutest turkeys you've ever seen and I love that it's a digi. This card was made for a sketch this week from Stamp Something Challenge Blog. It is a really fun sketch that worked perfectly with this image I think. I also made it for Kerry's fun Thursday challenge, 3CTC39, use a bird or bug on your creation.I printed out the turkey twice and cut out the front part of the turkey and popped up the turkey from the shirt up to give him some depth. His feet and bottom I just glue dotted down so he looked like he was still attached to his feathered backside.

I am one who has a comfort zone and don't realize how much I'm in it until I get knocked out of it. I must always cover my whole card with DP. There are so many out there that are perfect that I always reach for them. Well I didn't have any that went with this plaid. It was a scrap I had that I loved. I don't even know who makes it. I decided to just stamp on the red CS with fall leaves in red. It shows up IRL but not in the pick. I am not really crazy about it since it is not the norm for me. It is times like this that I will pull the card apart many times(often ruining some part of it in the process) trying to change it. This time I finished it and am posting before I give myself the chance to go at it again. Thanks for letting me vent so I can move on!

Supplies
Stamps: Squiggfly Digi Stamps, Amuse Stamps, SU Fall Leaves
Paper: SU CS Ballet Blue, Real Red, Papertrey White, DP Unknown
Inks: Copics, SU bashful Blue, Real Red
Accessories: Nesties, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, CTMH Clip, EK Success Leaf Punch, Dew Drops, Michaels Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today. If you get a minute I would love to know what you think of my card I created. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments that I get.

Have a Great Day and Happy Creating,

Where is Prince Charming?

I love this stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie's stamps. She shows so much attitude. When I saw what the sketch was for Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime Sketch, TSSC95, I knew this stamp would be perfect!

It also fit the challenge for Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps Challenge #5, and Quixotic Challenge #2 to feature stitching on the card. This was not an easy thing for me. I tried to zigzag around the back round DP. After three tries I said I'm done so it's not perfect. I decided to straight stitch around the top which came out a bit better. I will never be a seamstress.

I also am trying a new challenge, A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #77, To create a scene. I added the misletoe from one of my High Hopes stamps and I stamped the frog multiple times to give the idea of them waiting in line for their kiss.

Supplies
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps, High Hopes. Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU CS Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke. Papertrey White, and DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Memento Black, and Asst. SU Colors
Accessories: Nesties, SU Punch, Stickles, EK Success Leaf Punch, LSS Ribbon, Flowers Unknown

I am very happy to have you stop by today to see what I created. Thank you for all your wonderful comments, they are what keep me creating.

Have a wonderful day,
Mary

A Happy Snowman, Colour Create Challenge 31

Anyone that knows me knows that there are three things that I absolutely love the color blue (I think the whole world should be in shades of blue) and snowmen of all shapes and kinds and glitter, I love to make things sparkle! These three things surround me all year long and make me very happy! When my sister Peggy, Colorful Designs, told me about a challenge that was made for me over on Colour Create Challenge Blog, Challenge 31 I laughed because she was right. The challenge this week is to create a card that's blue, silver and white and has a winter theme that includes glitter, how perfect. This is the card I created for it.

This snowman is new this year and I just love him. I colored around him with Copics and then glittered around him to make him stand out a bit from the back round that I colored with my Copics also. I tried to show a close-up of how the card sparkles all over. The back round isn't quite as solid as it looks in the picture I took my blender to it to give a winter sky look sort of. The snowflake paper on the back round glitter CS I made using my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg stamps. I couldn't find DP that looked good so I thought why not just make my own! I stickled the flakes after I stamped it. I was lucky enough to find a piece of the silver mirror paper from a project years ago. The only bad thing was if you look a my photo you can see it does act like a mirror and my sweater reflected in the bottom at the icicles when I took the picture. I really had a lot of fun creating this card and I hope it inspires you to pull out a snowman, bring it to life and put a smile on some one's face!
Supplies
Stamps: Great Impressions, Rubber Stamp Tapestry, Savvy Stamps
Paper: CTMH White Textured CS, Glitter Cs and Silver Mirror CS, Papertrey White, and DP Art Impressions
Ink: Copics, SU Ink Ass't blues, Memento Black
Accessories: Nesties, MS Icicle Punch, MS Snowflake Punch, EK Success Snowflake Punches, Hero Arts Jewels, Recollections Sticker Pearls, A-muse Sticker Pearls, Stickles, SU Glitter, Flower Soft, Michaels Ribbon and Snowflake charm(unknown)

Thank you for stopping by today to see what I created. If you would like to leave a comment I would really appreciate it. I can't thank everyone enough for all their kind words about my cards.
Happy Creating,
Mary

Give Thanks, Sugar Bowl Challenge 23 Judy's Sketch

Yesterday Peggy and I along with another sister and my daughter went to Boston for a huge holiday craft fair. It was great and I didn't come home with anymore snowmen(though I really wanted to buy some cute ones I saw). I did get some great things though and everyone had a really great day. As soon as I got home I wanted to do some creating after seeing all the wonderful items people were selling that were beautiful. There sure are many talented people in this world.

I did this card for the Sugar Nellie Sugar Bowl Challenge 23, Judy's Sketch. The extra that is included with it is to make it a thankful card. This is the last Fall Sugar Nellie stamp that I have not used yet so I figured it was a perfect fit for the sketch and theme of the challenge. I used lots of DP on it because of the colors. I like the earthy colors all mixed with the different patterns like polka dots and stripes, KWIM? I thought the card needed a little something more so I went with the Fall theme and punch out leaves in the DP that I used and added them around the card. The polka dotted DP is new from a company called Poppy Stamps. The paper comes in a 6x6 pack and it is all polka dots in earthy colors, they are just beautiful. If you love dots you should keep youe eyes out for this wonderful paper!

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, SU (saying)
Paper: SU CS Choc. Chip, Always Artichoke, Papertrey White, DP Basic Grey, PoppyStamps Polka Dot DP
Inks: Copics, SU Bashful Blue, Memento Black and Cocoa
Accessories: Nesties, Cloudmaker, MS Branch Punch, EK Success Leaf Punch, Recollections Sticker Pearls, Michaels Ribbon

I hope this card inspired you to do a Sugar Nellie challenge or just creat a wonderful Fall card of your own. Thank for stopping by and for all the wonderful comments that you leave about my cards.

Enjoy this beautiful Fall day,
Mary

Dear Friend, TSSC94, Basic Grey Challenge Week 7, Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #4 Tag Your It!,RecipeFor Love Somethings Challenge

School has been crazy this week. Everyone, both kids and staff are getting sick from the swine flu it seems and there are a shortage of subs for the staff so everyone is trying to cover for everyone. I am beat by the time I get home but I got my new stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie at the beginning of the week and I couldn't wait to color at least one of them.

I made this card for 4 challenges. The first was Challenge #4, Tag your it on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog. You had to make a card with a tag on it. My tag was made with the SU tag punches and then I stamped the saying and roses on it with my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg and block stamps. I stickled the roses.
The second challenge was Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge, TSSC94. I love her sketch challenges and try to do as many as possible. This week's was easy so it let me embellish quite a bit.

The third challenge was Basic Grey's Challenge for week 7, a photo inspiration. I used the colors brown and pink from the picture as my inspiration. I love all the Basic Grey 6x6 paper packs so it was easy to find the perfect papers for this challenge.

The fourth challenge is the Stamp Something Challenge for this week, Recipe For Love Somethings. The recipe for the challenge is 1 Ribbon 2 Papers, 3 Embellishments. I used white ribbon, 2 Basic Grey Papers, and Prima Roses, Punched Branches and White Pearls, all favorites of mine!

I colored the image with Copics and stickled the bouquet of roses in her hand. I also stickled the Prima roses that are beside the image and on the tag. It does not show up very well on the picture.

Supplies
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, Rubber Stamp TapestryPaper: SU CS Choc. Chip, Regal Rose, Papertrey White CS, Basic Grey DPInk: Memento Black, SU Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Choc Chip, CopicsAccessories: MS Lace Punch and Branch Punch, SU Tag Punches, Stickles, SU ribbon, Recollection Sticker Pearls

I hope your liked what I created. Kimmie's new stamps are really cute and fun to color. You should check them out. I can't wait to place my next order this weekend for her newest stamps!

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think. I really appreciate all the wonderful comments you leave for me.

Have a great weekend,
Mary
