Underwater Beauty

Hello and Happy Tuesday!!! It is very early morning (just after midnight) and I just finished this card. I have been working on this card for days and I knew how I wanted to come out but it just never looked good enough, how I envisioned it. Needless to say this is nothing what it started out as. I had a creative jolt after a long afternoon lunch with some school friends. I came home and took most the card apart and I decided to have fun with it. This was the end result!

The only 2 things I kept was the image and the 1st DP (the blue blue glittered DP that is now behind the underwater scene DP. I went crazy with the diecuts (7 different ones) to make the underwater plant life. Don't you just love this meshy ribbon that I found at a LSS. I just added the strings and the sea embellishments so it would look like an old fishing net. I tore the cellar apart looking for my son's old tackle box so I could use a real fish hook but no luck so I tried my hand at making one to hold the tag. I finished it off with lots of glitter and Dew Drops.

Just Chillin'

Hello and Happy Saturday!!! I hope you all had a great start to your weekend. I just finished working my first week of summer school. I am with a preschool/kindergarten class this summer and you forget how cute (but tiring) they are after working with the older kids all year. I am glad to have 2 days to sleep in a bit later.

I am posting this card today as a guest DT for My Sheri Crafts. They have a fantastic challenge starting today and as you can see it is all about ice cream in a cone or dish!  I colored a few images and really liked these cute Meljens Design images. I love ice cream in the summer and always feel like it is calling out to me to have some so the faces on both these seemed fitting. I wanted some of the image to look realistic so I put Crystal Effects on the 3 toppings and the cherry on top. I didn't like the spoon flat and it didn't look right popped-up so I took a tool I have with a good size ball on the end and "rolled" the center of the spoon so the edges would pop up and give a curve to the spoon head. I also did the back of the handle to have the center of the handle pop-out. I also used a real doily because the ice cream shop usually serves their ice cream on them. I just dressed it up a bit with jewel mini hearts and mini pearls. All the ladies did such a fabulous job so be sure to stop by and be inspired to play along!

Blue Christmas

Hello, Happy Friday!!! I hope your start to the weekend is great. This card was suppose to be posted on Tuesday but Blogger is giving me so much trouble and when I started poking around trying to get it to work right I really messed it up. I still can't get it back to where it was but it is working enough to be able to post. I am not very good with computers so I should know better than to start clicking and deleting things that I don't know how to fix if it effects something else.

This is my card for Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge this week. The theme for the week is Christmas in July. I just got this Nellie Snellen (I just love all their stamps) Christmas stamp in June at a Stamping Convention and couldn't wait to color it. I love making my Christmas/Winter cards in the color blue so I couldn't resist doing this one in blue too! I also glittered almost everything on the card, the second pic I hope shows all the sparkle better than the first picture. It is not too late to come play along with us so we hope you hop over and play. I can't wait to see what you created.

Summertime Wishes

Hello, Happy Tuesday! The weather has been perfect here in New England the past two days. It is warm and sunny with low humidity so we haven't had to turn on the AC and it has been wonderful to be outside. I am hoping to work out in the gardens today and tomorrow. I hope after all the horrid weather that has happened the last couple of weeks I'm wishing Mother Nature is quiet for quite a while.

This week at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations we have a great challenge. We would like you to use something new that you have purchased in the last 2 months and tell us what it is. I have used a mixture of very old and very new on this card I created. My new is this Mo image, I have wanted it for a while but just couldn't justify buying it until about a month ago. Do you see the glittered aqua and blue glittered polka dot DP, I had to buy that a couple weeks ago at one of our LSS stores, I bought every color they had (I love using polka dots!). My last "NEW" item is the the leaf flourish die from Cheery Lynn Designs. I bought it at the last stamp convention I went to in June. We would love to see what "NEW" treasures you have so come play with us this week. Be sure to check out what the other ladies have created this week they are fabulous!

A Special Day

Hello! Happy Thursday! I hope the weather is as nice where you are as it is here in New England. It hasn't gotten "HOT" yet but it is coming.  It beats all the rain we have had the past few days. This is a card I have made for a friend who is getting married in July. When I saw a picture of her dress it looked almost identical to this dress so I knew I had to use this Saturated Canary digi for their card. It is hard to see in the picture but I found these beautiful pearl flowers at Michaels to add a bit more elegance to the card instead of regular pearls. I love the look of an all white card.

It is hard to see but I added a thin layer of glitter to the dress and the wedding garland die to give them some sparkle.

Celebrating the Fourth!

Hello, Happy Tuesday!!! I am so happy school's finally out for the summer!!! I work in a local school system so that means some much needed time off. I have so much to catch up on around here. I did get to go to my friend Pia's house on Saturday for a day of creating and laughing with the girls. It was so much fun to spend the day with everyone and I got a lot of crafting done too!

This week at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations the challenge is a great one for anyone here in the US, the theme is the Fourth of July!!! Just Like You Dad!

Hello Happy Rainy Tuesday! It has been cold and rainy here in New England for many days. I know it is good for getting rid of the awful pollen and great for all the flowers but I want the warm sunshine back for a least a day. Is that too much to ask for? I did have a lot of fun on Saturday though. A whole bunch of us stamping friends, Kristen, Pia, Michelle, Peggy, Nicole and myself, went to Springfield, MA for a big stamping convention. We all had a lot of fun, I spent lots of money and then we did a late, yummy lunch at Olive Garden. It is so much fun to spend a day with all of them. Don't you just a day out with the girls!
