Give Thanks, Sugar Bowl Challenge 23 Judy's Sketch

Yesterday Peggy and I along with another sister and my daughter went to Boston for a huge holiday craft fair. It was great and I didn't come home with anymore snowmen(though I really wanted to buy some cute ones I saw). I did get some great things though and everyone had a really great day. As soon as I got home I wanted to do some creating after seeing all the wonderful items people were selling that were beautiful. There sure are many talented people in this world.

I did this card for the Sugar Nellie Sugar Bowl Challenge 23, Judy's Sketch. The extra that is included with it is to make it a thankful card. This is the last Fall Sugar Nellie stamp that I have not used yet so I figured it was a perfect fit for the sketch and theme of the challenge. I used lots of DP on it because of the colors. I like the earthy colors all mixed with the different patterns like polka dots and stripes, KWIM? I thought the card needed a little something more so I went with the Fall theme and punch out leaves in the DP that I used and added them around the card. The polka dotted DP is new from a company called Poppy Stamps. The paper comes in a 6x6 pack and it is all polka dots in earthy colors, they are just beautiful. If you love dots you should keep youe eyes out for this wonderful paper!

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, SU (saying)
Paper: SU CS Choc. Chip, Always Artichoke, Papertrey White, DP Basic Grey, PoppyStamps Polka Dot DP
Inks: Copics, SU Bashful Blue, Memento Black and Cocoa

I hope this card inspired you to do a Sugar Nellie challenge or just creat a wonderful Fall card of your own. Thank for stopping by and for all the wonderful comments that you leave about my cards.

Enjoy this beautiful Fall day,
Mary

Fall Friends, Sugar bowl Challenge 18

It definitely feels like Fall here in New England. The leaves are started to turn color and the air is crisp today. The only thing missing is the sun. I just got my new Fall Sugar Nellie set in the mail and couldn't wait to ink them up. This girl and the leaf are part of the set. The whole set is wonderful!

Since I was using my new stamps it was a perfect time to play in the sugar bowl again. The challenge, challenge 19, this week is a color, pink and brown, and a sketch challenge. It's a great sketch because it worked great to turn it on it's side to fit the image. Basic Grey must love this color combo because it was really hard to pick which papers to choose because they have a lot using these two colors. Our LSS called today and the new Basic Grey 6x6 paper packs are in and I'm picking mine up tomorrow, I love having new things to play with. Don't you?

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie
Papers: SU Choc. Chip, Pretty in Pink, DP Basic Grey
Ink: Copics, Choc. Chip, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Cloud Maker, Nesties, Punch Bunch Punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Kaiser Pearls, Michaels Ribbon

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you liked what I created for the challenge.
Come by again soon.

Have a wonderful day,

Happy Birthday Peggy!

Anyone who knows me knows my sister Peggy. Today is her Birthday, Happy Birthday Peggy!!!
I made this card for her. I wanted to use an image that she didn't know that I had so it would be a surprise. Since we go shopping together for our stamping stuff (we usually pick the same things to buy) it was tough. I found this pretty flower pot on Fred, She Said's blog and thought immediately that Peggy would like it. Thank you Tracey (Fred), it was so nice of you to offer it to everyone.

I decided to do it in bright colors because I wanted the flowers look like they were in full bloom. . I was lucky though the card was almost done and I was stamping the Birthday Wishes and the ink pad was open. I bumped the table and knocked the card over and it fell on the ink pad. I almost died, but luckily I was able to pull it apart and replace the paper where the ink hit it. It ended up good as new! The only think different on the second try was I changed the ribbon because I didn't really like my first choice as much. I am sure Peggy is going to like it, which is all that matters!

Supplies
Stamps: Fred, She Said Digi Stamps, SU
Paper: SU Lavender Lace, Papertrey White, The Paper Co. Shimmer White, DP Basic Grey and Magenta
Ink: Copics, Memento Black
Accessories: Nesties, MS punch EK Success Corner Punch, Michaels Sticker Pearls, LSS Ribbon and Misc Pearl Pins.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you have a minute let me know what you think of this Birthday card, I really appreciate your comments.

Have a wonderful holiday,
Mary

Miss You, Copic Creations Challenge, Basic Grey Week 1 Challenge

I found two wonderful blog challenges that were using two of my favorite creative tools, Copics and Basic grey DP. This is the card that I ended up creating . The first challenge was for
Copic Creations, your card or project had to be red, pink and hearts. These aren't two colors that I would normally use together except at Valentine's Day. I just couldn't seem to find a lot to color red on the image so I used it as a accent color on the card.

The second challenge, Basic Grey Challenge 1 was to make a card using their sketch and it had to have a least on Basic Grey product used on the card. This was not hard for me since I really liked the sketch and I own almost every 6x6 pack of Basic Grey DP.

The card did take me a while to make because of matching the DP to the sketch and image. I used 3 different DPs and embossed and sanded one of them. I didn't have any red flowers so I colored a while one with my Copics. I may never buy a colored flower again because the white flower colored and dried so fast and easy. If you like challenges these blogs are both wonderful and a lot of fun to do.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU Real Red, CTMH textured white, Papertry white, DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Memento and SU
Accessories: Cloudmaker, SU tag punch, Punch Bunch leaf punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, CTMH flowers, Michaels ribbon, JoAnns pearl ribbon, MM heart brad, Fashion Sense Pins and misc brads

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I did for the challenges.
I really appreciate your wonderful comments on my card.

Have a wonderful day and stop by again soon,
Mary

Butterfly Kisses...

Life has been so busy this past week. This is the first card that I have found time to make because of work, home and gardening. I love my gardens but they do take a lot of time in the Spring. It is well worth it though come July when everything is in full bloom. I planted some perennials that attract butterflies this year. This is what made me want to make this card. This is one of the new Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamps.
The image is colored with Copics. I made a mask for the image because of the light colors I used and then did the clouds. The two stamped butterflies were cut out and popped up to make them look realistic. All the butterflies were brushed with Stickles to give them some sparkle.
Supplies:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie Home Grown, Serendipity Stamps
Paper: SU Pink Passion, Neenah White, DP Basic Grey
Ink: SU Bashful Blue, Pink Passion, Memento Black and Copics
Accessories: 2 SU Punches, MS punch, Paper Shaper Punch, Stickles, CTMH flowers, Michaels ribbon and Pearl Stickers
Thanks so much for stopping by to see what I have created.
I really appreciate all your wonderful comments about my cards.
