Happy Birthday Challenge Going Grey with Scrap-Creations

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! This is vacation week for me I am loving it. I am hoping to make lots of cards and I really need to clean and reorganize my craft area. Being creative is a messy process for me and I tend to leave a trail behind me. I am in trouble when there are piles everywhere and that is where I am now.

I am really loving using digital paper on my creations. I fell in love with this star paper from Bearly Mine Designs and knew it was perfect for a birthday card. Knowing that I loved this DP I bought the MFT star Die-namics to go with it. I also couldn't resist glittering the stars for some sparkle on the card. This cute digi is one of Mo Mannings that I love!

Being Tuesday it is also time for another fabulous challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. This week we have a fun theme that everyone can play along with, BIRTHDAYS! Back To School, Going Grey With Scrap- Creations Challenge

Happy Tuesday! It is time for another challenge at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. Congratulations to all the winners of the Kenny K digis last week, have fun playing with them!
This week the challenge for Going Grey is Back To School! It won't be long before all the kids and myself go back to school. I picked these two images from Moe's Digital Pencil. When I am driving to school on the first day this is what all the bus stops look like, the kids holding their stuff patiently waiting for the bus. By the third day their stuff is all over the ground and they are running around!

For this theme I found it really hard to use Basic Grey paper for this challenge. Primary colors aren't my choice of colors most of the time but school screams for them. This was the closest I could come and still be happy with what I created. I painted and then sealed with a gloss the chipboard letters. The apple in the corner is a brad that I have been saving for a school card. Don't you like when a challenge pushes you out of your comfort zone and that's what it is all about, KWIM?

The ladies have made some fantastic "school" creations to inspire you. Be sure to let them know how much you like their cards.

Here are some other great challenges that fit my card

Sketch Saturday Challenge Week #115-This is a great sketch this week that I used!

Ooh La La Challenge #60-This challenge is "Spots and Dots" this week.

Drunken Stampers Challenge #28-Masking is their challenge this week. I masked the kids so I could use my cloudmaker for the sky!

Our Creative Corner Challenge-This week the challenge is "It's Embossible". I embossed the back blue panel with circles!

Creative Belli Challenge #97-This week the challenge is to use paint. I painted my chipboard letters primary colors. I haven't painted anything in so long, fun challenge!

Paper Playtime Challenge #11-This challenge is "School Days". This is my first time playing this fun challenge blog!

Fab "N" Funky Challenge 34-This challenge is "Spotty, Dotty, and Stretchy Stripes" great challenge!

Little Red Wagon Challenge-Circles, Circles, Circles is the great challenge for this week!

Shirley's 2 Girls, S2G Challenge #68-This Twisted Thursday Challenge is a school theme with the twist of something red on the card!

Looking For Clues

Well I am back to school after a quiet and restful week of vacation. I am just now putting the finishing touches on a lot of cards I started last week but never quite finished until now. This is one of the harder ones for me. The card was for Mo's Digital Challenge. The challenge is "Clean and Simple, no layers, no embellishments except ribbon and just a white or beige colored card, YIKES! I live to use lots of layers and frills everywhere on my cards so this really was a challenge for me.

I chose this image from Mo's Digis that I have and just started coloring to see where it would lead to and if I could make something when I was done. Luckily the saying came to mind right away because when my son was little he loved playing in the dirt and would always yell to us to come look at what he found, which was so exciting to him. It is a great memory and with him owning a landscape company he is still playing in the dirt! This image reminds me of him. I did use a glitter pen on the magnifying glass and belt ring. I also put a bit of Crystal Effects on the lens of the magnifying glass. Anyway this is the finished card, I like the way it came out though I don't think I'll give up the layers and flowers and punched embellishments but this was a fun challenge that definitely pushed me way out my comfort zone.

Supplies

Stamps- Mo's Digital Pencil Digi
Paper- Papertrey White CS
Ink- Copics, SU Bashful Blue and saying done on the printer
Accessories- Cloudmaker, Michaels Ribbon, Silver and Gold Sepia Glitter Pen, Crystal Effects

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my creation. It definitely isn't typical for me and might be the last simple card you'll see here for a while, though it was fun to make.

Happy Creating,
Mary
