Follow The Leader?

You would not believe how fast the snow is falling here in our part of New England! We have gotten 19 inches in about 131/2 hours and it is still snowing. In honor of this storm I thought I would post this card. This is a Dustin Pike image that I love. The expressions on each duck's face is so funny, they look dazed from the chilly surroundings. This image went along with some other carnival images I bought a while back. My first thought was the ducks messed up and didn't make it to Florida!

I don't know if you can tell but there is lots of glitter on this card. I glittered the water, the drippy ice on the side, at the bottom of their eyes. all the snowflakes and on top of the snow(Flower Soft). I really wanted a lot of sparkle against the bright colors! I also couldn't resist adding speech bubbles. The art teacher at school would shoot me if she saw them!

These are some wonderful challenges that fit my card

Aly's Sunday Sketch Challenge ASC33-This challenge is "Things with Wings". All these ducks take care of the wings!

CES Challenge #18-This challenge is all about "Creatures both great and small". Great idea for a challenge theme!

Ringing In The New Year!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, I know I did! Being Tuesday it is time for another wonderful challenge over at Going Grey with Scrap-Creations. This week the fun theme we have for you is NEW YEARS! I am sure you are all looking forward to a happy and healthy new year. So why not start it off with some fun and play along with us!

The image that I used is a Dustin Pike design. I just love his images (I own a lot of them). I love this little mouse and knew I could work him into a New Year's card. It took me about 5 tries before I had a card I liked. I ended up making the back round squares because none of my DP seemed festive enough for a New Year's card. After I made the designs I went over them with glitter pens to add some extra sparkle to it! I also pulled out my colored glitter for the bell, it has been ages since I used colored glitter, I just use my Stickles for color usually.

The ladies really did some fabulous cards to inspire you this week, be sure to check them out. We also are saying good-bye to two of the ladies, Kristine and Lorie. We will miss you both very much and wish you all the best.

Some Special Children, Going Grey with Scrap-Creations Challenge 15

Hello everyone it is time for another Going Grey with Scrap-Creations challenge. This week is a special challenge because not only would we like everyone to play along with us but we would hope you would like to bring some happiness to some every special children. There are three children that could use some sunshine from all you wonderful card makers.
The first is 8 yr. old Ethan, he is battling a deadful disease and is losing the battle he loves getting cards in the mail so this small gesture would definitely brighten his days.

The second is his sister Sierra, how terrible to see her brother suffer through everything he has gone through. She needs to know that someone is thinking about her during this time. Her life is on hold while the family deals with Ethan so any cards you have made that would make a smile would be great.

The third child is Bella Tucker. She is an adorable little girl would was happy and healthy until Easter day when she suddenly developed an infection. The infection didn't kill her but it did take both of her arms and legs. She is a very strong and brave little girl who needs all the smiles she can get while she spends the summer in rehab far from her home.

This baby card is for a very good friend at school. She is having her second child and it is a boy so I wanted to make sure I used lots of blue. There is also lots of sparkle because she is always remarking about loving the cards with sparkle and shine that I create. This image is one of my favorite Dustin Pike digi images.
