Forever Friends

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday! We are having sunny skies here after a tough weekend. Luckily we never lost our power through the tropical storm though a lot of our town is still without power. I am hoping that a lot of the gardens in my yard "pop back" after all the rain and wind. This is the week I start back to school and will be happy to see all the kiddos again.

This week we have a really fun challenge for you over at
                                            Going Grey with Scrap-Creations

We would like you to Decorate the INSIDE of your Card. Now many of you may already do this if not give it a try. I made a card for a boy so I kept the inside of the card on the minimal side. I do have that cute friend saying and put the first half of it on the outside and the second half of it on the inside. The swirly circle that they are on is actually a ribbon slide. Don't you just love when you can use your craft stuff for multiple design elements.

Be sure to check out what the other ladies created to inspire you this week they are gorgous both inside and out!

Here are some other fantastic challenges that fit my card

2 Sisters Challenge #54-Boys and their toys
Crazy 4 Challenges C4C102-Male Themed Creations
Heart Song Inspirations Challenge #13-Anything Goes or favorite color combo, I picked Anything Goes
Send A Smile 4 Kida Challenge-Punches and Diecuts 4 Kids
Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge #104-recipe, I used ribbon, buttons, and a circle swirl
Stamps R Us Challenge-Anything Goes
Just Add Ink Challenge JAI82-Something From Your Stash-mine is these buttons

These are all fabulous challenges so be sure to stop by and play along or just check out their wonderful inspiration they have for you!

We Wish You A Merry Christmas....

Surprise! Can you believe that I have a post two days in a row? This never happens but I did finish this card and decided to post it before I got sidetracked. It is a little early to be thinking about Christmas but I wanted to play with this stamp from Lilli of the Valley. I bought it last year and just never found the time to ink it up until now.

I had a lot of fun coloring it though there was so much detail to it I was afraid I would get it almost all colored and mess part of it up and have to start over. I usually have a hard  time fixing red so I colored that first. I used these 3 DP from Bearly Mine because I love the red and tealish color together. I also added lots of different color glitters on the card. There is gold on the large poinsetta and the poinsettas with the sentiment. there is diamond glitter on the fur trims and the snow. I also glittered where I distressed around the sheet music. the whole card really sparkles, I tried to show it in the second picture.

Can you see all the sparkle?

Hello and Happy Day! I am a few days behind on life. There is a few weeks left to school and that means busy times for me at school. I also needed to get all my planting done and all the gardens freshened up so that the mulch could be done this weekend. I am hoping that my husband and son get it done while I am at a big rubber stamping convention in Springfield, MA tomorrow. My friends and I go every year. It is so much fun and I tend to buy a lot!

Happy Holidays!

Can you believe that it is only 4 days until Christmas! I am actually more prepared this year than in past years. I actually got a lot of my wrapping done this weekend which is huge for me. This card that I made is going to one of the friends that I work with. She was saying how much she loves snowmen so I decided this was the perfect card for her. I put little pearls on the scarf to try to match a pink scarf that she has and loves to wear.

I decided that I wanted to do something different than just a traditional color snowman card. I had this beautiful snowflake DP from Magenta and decided to use the colors in it. The snowflake border is something that I got a short time ago at my LSS. It is a Tim Holtz die cut that I have fallen in love with. This border is actually a bit longer but wanted to shorten it up give it a different look than a full border. Also I wanted the look of a wintery sky so I used my cloudmaker and dragged the sponge instead of tapping it.

A Touch of Vintage

Today is a beautiful day in New England. We have finally shut of the AC and the sun is shining bright. This is my last week of vacation to myself until the middle of August. My husband is off next week and then summer school starts and I work it every morning for 4 weeks. I am taking full advantage of this week by playing and creating a lot.

This card is one that took so much longer than I expected. I got the adorable new stamps from Lili of the Valley and couldn't wait to color it. I ended up doing 3 times because I wasn't sure how I wanted to use her. I finally decided on a vintage card. I haven't done one in years and forgot that they don't come easy to me because I can be a procrastinator and a bit of a perfectionist so I kept changing my mind about different things on the card. I do have to say I am happy with the final outcome though, so it was worth the extra time.
