I'm waiting for you! Copic Creations Challenge #14, Basic Grey Challenge Week 6

Today is beautiful here in New England! I was afraid that Fall was just going to skip us this year! It snowed yesterday, a lot. I always like the first snow fall but not until Fall has passed. This whole week is suppose to be gorgeous and I have Friday off. Friday night I get to go to our LSS customer appreciation party with my sister Peggy. This is going to be a great week I think.

This card was made for two challenges, the first one being Copic Creations Challenge #14, Black.
I am not much of one to practice using certain colors like black and greys. I only pull them out when I have to color something those colors. I love Tink from High Hopes but I done use the stamps I have of him often. I just got this Tink in late Dec. last year after the holidays. I figured he would be perfect for this challenge because he looks so sweet.

The second challenge is the Basic Grey Challenge week 6, a color challenge, red, green and blue.
I love the Basic Grey Holiday paper pak. They are not your traditional Holiday colors so it is really fun to use them. I really tried to match my blue back round with the blue holly in the DP so it would "pop" a bit more. Do you think it does? I had to create my saying on the computer because I couldn't find anything good to use in my stamp stash. I dressed it up with Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.

Supplies
Stamps: High Hopes, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU Kiwi Kiss, Bravo Burgundy, Memento White, DP Basic Grey
Ink: Copics, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red
Accessories: Nesties, MS Punch, Stickles, Amuse Pearl Stickers, Recollections Sticker Pearls, LSS Ribbon

Thank you for stopping by to see what I created for these challenges. I would love to know what you think.

Have a wonderful day,
Mary

Fall Is In The Air, Copic Creations Challenge #13

It is beautiful here in New England, all the colors are out on the trees and the air is finally crisp. I am starting to see pumpkins on door steps, corn stalks tied with colorful ribbons and mums in full bloom. It really puts me in the Fall mood even when making cards.

This is a card I started over a week ago and never quite found time to finish it, kind of out of sight out of mind. I made it with the Copic Creations Challenge #13 in mind, coloring pumpkins. It seems like I am always experimenting on different ways to color pumpkins with Copics. With these pumpkins I wanted an aged look like they have been picked and were in a pile just waiting for someone to come along and take them home. I added a touch of green and brown to them after I colored them orange and yellow to try to get the aged feel.

I just love this Just Rite Autumn Stamp Set. Everyone of the stamps comes to life when you put color to them. They make such a wonderful card and every card looks so different. Lots of creativity for not a lot of money I think.

Supplies
Stamps: Just Rite Stamps
Papers: SU Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, Papertrey White, DP Bo Bunny
Inks: Copics, Memento Black, SU Bashful Blue
Accessories: Nesties, Cloud Maker, Stickles, Memory Box Pearl Stickers, Recollections Pearl Stickers, Michaels Ribbon

I hope this card gave you the feeling of Fall in the air. Thank you so much for stopping by and letting me know what you think of my card. It really means a lot when other creative people stop to see what I have spent my time creating.

Have a wonderful Fall day, Mary

Fall Pleasures, Copic Creations Challenge #12

I love making Fall themed cards. I don't know if it's the beautiful colors or what the card represents, warm sweaters, colorful trees, crisp apples and pumpkins or Thanksgiving right around the corner. I made this card for the Copic Creations challenge #12, Copics and pencils.
I always knew you could color pencil over Copics to give depth or a touch of shading to an image, I just never thought to do it. Before I used Copics I seemed to color everything with Prisma Colored Pencils and Gamsol, then the Copic bug bit me and the pencils went into the draw and haven't seen the light of day until now. I colored over the Copics on the mouse's fur, the pumpkin and the leaves. I like the look of it, so thanks for this challenge. I think the pencils will stay out.

This cute image isn't my usual Fall image that I would buy but at my LSS it caught my eye on a sample card just as we walked in the store and sure enough it came home with me. I really didn't need another pumpkin but the candy corns were so different. The back round on the card was something new for me, it is digi DP from Gina K. I think I could really get use to using digi DP. I will still love my 6x6 packs of paper because it is scaled down for cards but this is a nice alternative. On top of the DP I punched squares out of the Cuttlebug embossed pumpkin patch.

I wanted to try something diffeent with the embossing. I also popped up some of the candy corns and glittered the veins on the leaves for some sparkle.

Supplies
Stamps: Great Impressions
Paper: SU Only Orange, Kiwi Kiss, Garden Green, Papertrey White and DP Gina K digi
Coloring: Copics, Prisma Colored Pencils, SU Kiwi Kiss, Memento Black
Accessories: Su Square Punch, Nesties, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Kaiser Pearls, Michaels Ribbon, Signo White Pen and SU Glitter

I hope you like what I created. I really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment about my cards.

Enjoy the day,
Mary

Treasure The Moment, Copic Creations Challenge #11

I am officially back to school and the kids are wonderful this year just like many other years. I guess because it is just about Labor Day I decided this would be my last "summer" card. I am so ready to move onto Fall. I didn't want to save this cute High Hopes stamp though till next year.

I made this card for the Copic Creations #11 challenge, use your favorite color combos. Mine happen to be Earthy browns, pinks, purples and shades of green when it comes to Copics. I love all the Copic colors but don't always have combos that I like together. The DT cards are gorgeous like always and the Sponsor is Mo's Digital Pencil Too. The images are so cute with lots of beautiful details.

I didn't do a lot of extras on this card, I thought the image was detailed enough. I did pop up the flower to give the impression of an umbrella and added the floating leaves after to balance the card out. The saying seemed fitting because we'll be knee deep in snow before we know it longing for a summer day again!

Supplies
Stamps: High Hopes, PSX, Stampin' Up
Paper: SU Bashful Blue, Orchid Opulence, Papertrey White, and DP Basic Grey, Magenta
Ink: Bashful Blue, Memento Black and Copics
Accessories: Nesties, Twine and Beads from JoAnns

I hope you enjoyed this card. I really appreciate you stopping by and letting me know what you think of my creations.

Have a wonderful day,
Mary

Miss You, Copic Creations Challenge, Basic Grey Week 1 Challenge

I found two wonderful blog challenges that were using two of my favorite creative tools, Copics and Basic grey DP. This is the card that I ended up creating . The first challenge was for
Copic Creations, your card or project had to be red, pink and hearts. These aren't two colors that I would normally use together except at Valentine's Day. I just couldn't seem to find a lot to color red on the image so I used it as a accent color on the card.

The second challenge, Basic Grey Challenge 1 was to make a card using their sketch and it had to have a least on Basic Grey product used on the card. This was not hard for me since I really liked the sketch and I own almost every 6x6 pack of Basic Grey DP.

The card did take me a while to make because of matching the DP to the sketch and image. I used 3 different DPs and embossed and sanded one of them. I didn't have any red flowers so I colored a while one with my Copics. I may never buy a colored flower again because the white flower colored and dried so fast and easy. If you like challenges these blogs are both wonderful and a lot of fun to do.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU Real Red, CTMH textured white, Papertry white, DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Memento and SU
Accessories: Cloudmaker, SU tag punch, Punch Bunch leaf punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, CTMH flowers, Michaels ribbon, JoAnns pearl ribbon, MM heart brad, Fashion Sense Pins and misc brads

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I did for the challenges.
I really appreciate your wonderful comments on my card.

Have a wonderful day and stop by again soon,
Mary

You're Invited, Copic Creations #9, 3CTC26

I have been having a lot of fun being able to just play most of the day.I have three weeks until school starts again for the year. I decided I would combine two challenges this week. When I saw that the Copic Creations challenge #9 was eyes I started going through all my stamps and realized that I didn't have any stamps with great eyes except this Dustin Pike image. This was one of the many great images that I got during his super sale. It was so much fun to color and make it seem like it was jumping out at you. I read all the tutorials about doing eyes and they were very helpful. I did decide that I wanted his eyes to reflect the idea that they are submerged in the swampy water a lot, that is why I did orange on the sides of the eyes.

I also realized that this card was perfect for Kerry's Thursday challenge this week, 3CTC26, to use a digital image or back round. I have hundreds of stamps some that haven't even seen ink yet but I still find myself using digital images a lot. There are so many wonderful ones out there now. I will always love my rubber but am happy to find a new way to create with paper and color!

I really had a lot of fun making this card. The whole card is colored with Copics except the saying. I even colored on my stamp with Copics and then misted it with alcohol and stamped it over the water colored with Copics. It worked really well. The cat n' nine tails were made with a new set of Spellbinder dies I bought a stamping convention in June. They are supposed to be for words but they worked for these also.

Supplies:
Stamps: SU, Dustin Pike Digi Stamps
Paper: Papertrey white SU Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss,Choc. Chip
Ink: Copics
Accessories: Spellbinder dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Cloudmaker, Dragonfly punch

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed this card. I really appreciate all your wonderful comments, they really make my day.

Color My World,TSSC77, Copic Creations #7

I just love Sugar Nellie stamps and the Home Grown girls are beginning to become my favorites. I am not sure why this one was one of the first I bought, maybe because you don't often see a stamp of a cute girl doing painting.

I made this card for Mary Jo's Monday Sketch challenge, TSSC77, It was a really easy sketch to work with. I chose to turn the sketch on it's side for this card and then add my own touches to it.
You can't tell from the picture but all the paint(except the wall) and the paintbrush have Crystal Effects on it to give the idea of wet paint.

I also used this card for the Copic Creations challenge #7, to color an image with brunette hair. I am always experimenting with hair color to try to get it as natural as possible. I love that Copics let me blend as much as I want and play around with what I don't like.

Supplies:
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, Hero Arts
Paper: SU Pretty in Pink, Cool Caribbean, Papertrey White, DP Basic Grey
Inks: SU Cool Caribbean, Memento black and Copics
Accessories: Nesties, SU pearls Crystal Effects, Prima flowers, Michaels ribbon, and JoAnns pearl beads

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have created. I hope you enjoy my cards.
Have a wonderful day,
Mary
