Dear Friend, TSSC94, Basic Grey Challenge Week 7, Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #4 Tag Your It!,RecipeFor Love Somethings Challenge

School has been crazy this week. Everyone, both kids and staff are getting sick from the swine flu it seems and there are a shortage of subs for the staff so everyone is trying to cover for everyone. I am beat by the time I get home but I got my new stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie at the beginning of the week and I couldn't wait to color at least one of them.

I made this card for 4 challenges. The first was Challenge #4, Tag your it on the Kraftin' Kimmie blog. You had to make a card with a tag on it. My tag was made with the SU tag punches and then I stamped the saying and roses on it with my Rubber Stamp Tapestry peg and block stamps. I stickled the roses.
The second challenge was Mary Jo's Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge, TSSC94. I love her sketch challenges and try to do as many as possible. This week's was easy so it let me embellish quite a bit.

The third challenge was Basic Grey's Challenge for week 7, a photo inspiration. I used the colors brown and pink from the picture as my inspiration. I love all the Basic Grey 6x6 paper packs so it was easy to find the perfect papers for this challenge.

The fourth challenge is the Stamp Something Challenge for this week, Recipe For Love Somethings. The recipe for the challenge is 1 Ribbon 2 Papers, 3 Embellishments. I used white ribbon, 2 Basic Grey Papers, and Prima Roses, Punched Branches and White Pearls, all favorites of mine!

I colored the image with Copics and stickled the bouquet of roses in her hand. I also stickled the Prima roses that are beside the image and on the tag. It does not show up very well on the picture.

Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, Rubber Stamp TapestryPaper: SU CS Choc. Chip, Regal Rose, Papertrey White CS, Basic Grey DPInk: Memento Black, SU Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Choc Chip, CopicsAccessories: MS Lace Punch and Branch Punch, SU Tag Punches, Stickles, SU ribbon, Recollection Sticker Pearls

I hope your liked what I created. Kimmie's new stamps are really cute and fun to color. You should check them out. I can't wait to place my next order this weekend for her newest stamps!

I'm waiting for you! Copic Creations Challenge #14, Basic Grey Challenge Week 6

Today is beautiful here in New England! I was afraid that Fall was just going to skip us this year! It snowed yesterday, a lot. I always like the first snow fall but not until Fall has passed. This whole week is suppose to be gorgeous and I have Friday off. Friday night I get to go to our LSS customer appreciation party with my sister Peggy. This is going to be a great week I think.

This card was made for two challenges, the first one being Copic Creations Challenge #14, Black.
I am not much of one to practice using certain colors like black and greys. I only pull them out when I have to color something those colors. I love Tink from High Hopes but I done use the stamps I have of him often. I just got this Tink in late Dec. last year after the holidays. I figured he would be perfect for this challenge because he looks so sweet.

The second challenge is the Basic Grey Challenge week 6, a color challenge, red, green and blue.
I love the Basic Grey Holiday paper pak. They are not your traditional Holiday colors so it is really fun to use them. I really tried to match my blue back round with the blue holly in the DP so it would "pop" a bit more. Do you think it does? I had to create my saying on the computer because I couldn't find anything good to use in my stamp stash. I dressed it up with Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.

Supplies
Stamps: High Hopes, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU Kiwi Kiss, Bravo Burgundy, Memento White, DP Basic Grey
Ink: Copics, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red
Accessories: Nesties, MS Punch, Stickles, Amuse Pearl Stickers, Recollections Sticker Pearls, LSS Ribbon

Thank you for stopping by to see what I created for these challenges. I would love to know what you think.

Have a wonderful day,
Mary

Let It Snow...., Basic Grey Challenge #5 Martine's Sketch

I don't like winter too much but I love snowmen of all kinds. This is a new snowman stamp that I just bought at my LSS because I just loved the expression on the face! I still have lots of Fall cards to finish but the sketch for the Basic Grey Challenge, Week 5 Martine's Sketch, was perfect for this stamp and I couldn't resist inking it up right away.

The paper is from last year's Basic Grey winter 6x6 pak. I love both these papers and was kind of hoarding them until now. You can't see it in the picture but the snowman is outlined in glitter over the Copics that I shaded him with. I also painted inside his body with white paint to give him a bit of texture. I included a picture of some new sparkle that I found and bought at a stamp convention. It is called Twinklets by Floracraft and it is like real ice crystals. It isn't like a chunky glitter because it is very thin, flat and clear. That is the best way I can think to describe it. It comes in a good size bottle and it goes on with glue or like on the large snowflake because the bottom flake is felt I used Crystal effects so it would stick good. This stuff is wonderful if you like sparkle on your creations!

Supplies
Stamps: Great Impressions, Savvy Stamps
Paper: CTMH Textured White, DP Basic Grey
Ink: Memento Black and Copics
Accessories: EK Success Snowflake punches, Twinklets Diamond Dust, Art Institute Glitter, Hero Arts Rhinestones, Queen & Co Pearls, Maya Road Felt Snowflakes

I hope you enjoyed seeing my creation for this challenge. Thank you for all your wonderful comments, I really do appreciate them very much. Please visit again soon.

Enjoy your day,
Mary

A Special Plea

It has been a beautiful day here in New England. The feel of Fall is here even though it is Labor Day. Everyone was gone this morning at my house so I got to finish up this card. It is going to a young girl in a hospital in Boston. Dustin Pike put out a plea for cards for this girl who had her arm amputated because of a boating accident while on vacation. My heart goes out to her and her family so this is the least I could do. If you would like to send her a card or read about her accident Erin has all the info on her blog here. Dustin is giving a free Digi Stamp of your choice to everyone who sends a card and Erin has blog candy to win for sending a card.
I was at Peggy's house so I stamped some images of her Motivet stamp she has, thanks Peggy. I love these stamps and thought it would be perfect for this card.

I also made this card for the Basic Grey Challenge week 3 this week's challenge is an inspiration challenge. I decided to use the colors in the room and a some frills to the card because of what looks like lace curtains on the windows.

One last tidbit I have to offer. The first time I used this Spellbinder die on a card I hated it because of all the trouble to get it separated from the die. I said this exactly in my post! Well I now have to say I found the solution and love this design now. All you need to do is put a piece of wax paper on top of the die before you put your paper down on top of the die. After you crank it through the Cuttlebug the cut paper and the wax paper pop right out of the die, soo easily now!So if you love these new intricate dies don't be afraid to buy them just make sure you have the wax paper handy.
Supplies
Stamps: Motivet, Stampin Up
Paper: SU Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, The Paper Co Shimmer White, DP Basic Grey
Ink: Copics, memento Black
Accessories: Spellbinder die, Nesties, MS punch, Bow Easy, Primas, Walmart Ribbon, Michaels Sticker Pearls and JoAnn's Eyelet trim

I hope if you have a minute you will consider sending a card to this young girl. She has a rough road ahead and could you all the prayers and well wishes that we can send.

Thanks for stopping by,
Mary

Tea For Two, TSSC84, Basic Grey Week 2 Challenge

This is the last week of my summer vacation. I head back to school on Monday and the kiddos start on Tuesday. I have been just relaxing and creating this week. This card was made for two different challenges. The first one is the Monday lunchtime sketch challenge, TSSC84. Mary Jo's sketches are always fun to do. The only thing I altered was the strip in the center I angled instead of leaving it straight. I fell in love with this Penny Black mice stamp when I saw it at the convention in Springfield this past June. I just got around to inking it up yesterday.

The second challenge this card was made for is the Basic Grey week 2 colour combo, pink, brown and yellow. It was a bit of a challenge to figure out were to fit in the yellow because I had already colored the image when I decided to do the challenge. I love using the Basic Grey paper packs so it wasn't tough to pick out papers I liked for it!
Supplies
Stamps: Penny Black
Paper: SU Choc. Chip, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Papertrey White and DP Basic Grey
Ink: Copics, Memento Black, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Nesties, SU Corner Punch, Kaiser Pearls, Prima Roses

I am really glad you stopped by to see my creation. Thank you for for wonderful comments, I really appreciate them.

Enjoy your day,
Mary

Miss You, Copic Creations Challenge, Basic Grey Week 1 Challenge

I found two wonderful blog challenges that were using two of my favorite creative tools, Copics and Basic grey DP. This is the card that I ended up creating . The first challenge was for
Copic Creations, your card or project had to be red, pink and hearts. These aren't two colors that I would normally use together except at Valentine's Day. I just couldn't seem to find a lot to color red on the image so I used it as a accent color on the card.

The second challenge, Basic Grey Challenge 1 was to make a card using their sketch and it had to have a least on Basic Grey product used on the card. This was not hard for me since I really liked the sketch and I own almost every 6x6 pack of Basic Grey DP.

The card did take me a while to make because of matching the DP to the sketch and image. I used 3 different DPs and embossed and sanded one of them. I didn't have any red flowers so I colored a while one with my Copics. I may never buy a colored flower again because the white flower colored and dried so fast and easy. If you like challenges these blogs are both wonderful and a lot of fun to do.

Supplies
Stamps: Sugar Nellie, Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: SU Real Red, CTMH textured white, Papertry white, DP Basic Grey
Inks: Copics, Memento and SU
Accessories: Cloudmaker, SU tag punch, Punch Bunch leaf punch, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, CTMH flowers, Michaels ribbon, JoAnns pearl ribbon, MM heart brad, Fashion Sense Pins and misc brads

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I did for the challenges.
I really appreciate your wonderful comments on my card.

Have a wonderful day and stop by again soon,
Mary
